Printing Practice Plans

Hi Hockey Coaches! You might have noticed we have updated the framework for printing practice plans.

We made these updates based on our 2022 member survey along with all of the coaches that took time to write in and provide us feedback over the past year. We still have fine tuning to do, but below we will explain the highlights of the new printing format, suggested formats to try, issues we are aware of, and how you can provide us feedback.

NEW PRINTING HIGHLIGHTS

1. Logo: the new printing format allows for your team logo to be on the upper right. Click "My Account" on the top right of the icehockeysystems.com header and then "My Profile" to add your teams logo. The logo will appear on the practice & in your drill diagrams.
2. File Size:  the new format allows for smaller file sizes (especially if you use the Condensed Rows, or Compact Cheat Sheet layout). 
3. Text Formatting: the new format will display text formatting in the print outs (bold, underline, italics, bullet points, numbers, etc).
4. Additional Printing Layouts: the new format allows us to build additional practice formats. We added the compact cheat sheet and plan to add more in the future.
5. Progressions: the new format will allow for drill progressions to be displayed.
6. Practice Layouts: if you add a practice layout to your practice, these will now be displayed.
7. Option To Remove Text: if you want, you can remove Descriptions, and/or Coach's Notes with a click of a button. This will allow the print outs to be more concise and focus on the diagrams.

SUGGESTED FORMATS TO TRY

• Condensed Rows: If you are printing your practice plans, we would suggest to click the "Condensed Rows" format. From there you can decide if you would like to remove the Description Text or Coach's Notes to make the practice print out shorter.
• Copy & Share URL: this is our favorite way to share a practice plan. Instead of printing out a practice, click "Copy & Share URL" to share your practice digitally through text, email, social media, or your team app. The digital format will also display & play any videos that are added to the practice. 

ISSUES WE ARE AWARE OF

• Spacing on Downloadable PDFs: We are aware of spacing issues with some of the downloadable PDFs. For the time being, if you are not happy with the spacing on your downloadable PDF we would suggest to click the "Print" option or "Copy & Share URL" option for now. We are working to resolve issues where the downloadable PDFs cut off text & drill diagrams.
• Red Background on Practice Notes With Mac / Safari Users: We are aware of an issue where practice notes will have a red background if you download the practice plan on a Mac computer with the Safari browser. We are working to resolve this issue. In the meantime, you can remove the red background by downloading the practice plan in the Google Chrome browser, or by printing with the "Print" button option or sharing the practice digitally with the "Copy & Share URL" option.
